Die sieben Mitglieder Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney und I.M. debütierten vor vier Jahren in der koreanischen Reality-TV-Show „No.Mercy“ und erreichen mittlerweile via Spotify monatlich (!) mehr als 2,7 Millionen Hörer. Zu ihren größten Hits zählen u.a. „HERO“ (knapp 40 Millionen Spotify-Streams), „DRAMARAMA” (32 Mio Spotify-Streams), „Beautiful“ (21 Mio Spotify-Streams), die Steve Aoki-Kollaboration „Play It Cool“ (über 26 Mio Spotify-Streams) und „Who Du U Love” featuring French Montana (26 Millionen Streams). Im Dezember 2018 waren Monsta X die erste koreanische Band, die an der iHeart Jingle Ball Tour teilnahm und im September 2019 waren sie die erste K-Pop-Formation beim iHeartRadioMusic Festival in Las Vegas. Mit „All About Luv“ legte die Band am 14. Februar 2020 ihr englischsprachiges Album vor.
