Suzanne Vega kündigt ein neues Album an! „An Evening of New York Songs and Stories” erscheint am 11. September 2020 via Cooking Vinyl. Auf dem neuen Werk präsentiert die zweifache Grammy-Gewinnerin Suzanne Vega einige ihrer New Yorker Lieder und Geschichten in einer Live-Aufnahme, bei der sie von dem langjährigen Gitarristen Gerry Leonard, dem Bassisten Jeff Allen und dem Keyboarder Jamie Edwards begleitet wird. Das Album wurde Anfang 2019 in New York City's legendärem Café Carlyle (zB Woody Allen und seine Jazzband spielten wöchentlich dort) aufgenommen und enthält sowohl bekannte Songs wie "Luka" und "Tom's Diner" als auch weniger bekannte, aber sehr tiefgehende Songs aus ihrem Katalog wie "Frank and Ava" und "Ludlow Street". Der Repertoire-Mix enthält auch "New York Is My Destination" von Lover, Beloved: Lieder von einem Abend mit Carson McCullers, Vegas Ein-Frau-Stück über den Südstaaten-Gothic-Autor Carson McCullers und ein Cover von "Walk on the Wild Side" ihres verstorbenen Freundes Lou Reed.
