"Synchronicity," das fünfte und letzte Studioalbum von The Police, wurde im Juni 1983 veröffentlicht und war ihr erfolgreichstes Album, das die Band zu weltweiten Superstars machte. Es brachte vier Hitsingles hervor: "Every Breath You Take," "King of Pain," "Wrapped Around Your Finger" und "Synchronicity II." Das Album verkaufte sich über 8 Millionen Mal in den USA und 300.000 Mal in Großbritannien, mit insgesamt über 20 Millionen verkauften Exemplaren weltweit bis Ende 1983.
Eine erweiterte Wiederveröffentlichung enthält unveröffentlichtes Bonusmaterial, neue Linernotes, Interviews, seltene Archiv-Memorabilien und ungesehene Fotos. Alle Tracks wurden in den Abbey Road Studios direkt von den Originalbändern remastered. Die 6xCD Super-Deluxe-Edition umfasst 55 bisher unveröffentlichte Tracks und wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit der gesamten Band zusammengestellt.
