Ein doppeltes Greatest Hits..

1979 veröffentlichte die Sugarhill Gang den internationalen Hit "Rapper’s Delight". Die Sternstunde des kommerziellen Hip Hops. Auch wenn der Sugarhill Gang kein weiterer Hit in den Dimensionen von "Rapper’s Delight" gelang, hat die US-amerikanische Hip Hop-Band dennoch zahlreich Songs produziert, die zu den Anfängen des heute bekannten Hip Hops zählen. Wenn man nur die Anzahl der Hits zählt waren Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five ein wenig erfolgreicher. Hits wie "The Message", "White Lines" oder "New York New York" sind heute noch in vielen DJ-Sets zu finden.
