Johnny Cash hatte wohl immer schon ein Faible für orchestrale Sounds. Sein Sohn John Carter Cash erinnert sich an einen Kinobesuch in den frühen 1980er Jahren. Auf der Leinwand lief ein James Bond-Film. Als die Musik zu "Goldfinger" einsetzte, sagte der Vater zum Filius: "Das ist das allerfeinste Orchester der Welt. Das ist das Royal Philharmonic Orchestra!"

Rund 40 Jahre später werden nun ein Dutzend Songs der Country-Legende Johnny Cash in eben dieses neu arrangierte Sound-Gewand gehüllt: Das vom Sony-Katalog-Label Columbia/Legacy Recordings herausgegebene Album "Johnny Cash & The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra" erscheint am 13. November 2020 auf LP und CD und auch digital.
